I wrote all these songs in the order they appear. In fact, everything that you hear on the album happened in this order, even the overlayed sounds. So this one was the first and set the tone for the rest of the record.

The sounds you hear in the background at the opening are the noises of Hachioji late at night as recorded from my hotel window up on the 7th floor. There was a different version of this song floating around on soundcloud or someplace that didn't have the big orchestral build up. It was just a straight across rock song, more like the second half when the band kicks in. The synthy sound is a guitar with a bunch of distortion, tone turned all the way down, finger tapped. The melody from the last song's chorus can be heard in the distorted electric guitar in the chorus behind the vocals.
